Matilda has always been ‘the art kid’, painting and drawing their favourite characters and scenes from movies, TV shows, audiobooks, etc. Inspired by the recent worldwide rise of conservatism in politics, they got the idea for their first original concept painting, ‘The Choice’, after listening to the online debate of ‘man vs bear’. Since then, their paintings have featured strong political themes as well as their passion for LGBTQIA+ rights and feminism. These were mixed into their own form of protest work inspired by the painters of the Baroque and Pre-Raphaelite eras and with a love of symbolism throughout their pieces.

Still a big fan of fantasy at heart, they continue to work on their illustration skills, creating fan artwork inspired by their favourite media and working on their Illustration degree.
