As part of our second-year work, venturing into professional practices, we were given the challenge of planning and illustrating a book of our choice.
As a fan of classical illustrations such as those of Arthur Rackham, I chose an adaptation of a classic fairytale. Hans Christian Andersen wrote a retelling of the fairytale ‘The Six Swans’, also known as ‘The Seven Ravens’, with an extended narrative and more complex characters, perfect for an illustration challenge.
